What is Domino?

Domino is a game of stacked, rectangular plastic tiles that can be flipped over to line them up and then knocked down. The pieces, also known as bones, cards, men, or dominoes, have square ends that are marked with numbers or symbols, called pips, that differentiate one from another. The value of each end is indicated by a line that separates the two sides; the number of pips on each side determines the rank or weight of a domino. For example, a domino with six pips on both sides is more valuable than one with less on either side.

Dominoes are often used to create intricate designs. These creations can range from grids of dominoes that form pictures when they fall, to stacked domino walls, or 3-D structures like towers and pyramids. The goal is to build a structure that will be strong enough when it falls over, which is why the art of domino design is often called “domino architecture.”

In addition to their artistic value, dominoes are an important tool for teaching children about mathematics, especially counting. They are also a fun way to hone motor skills. Dominoes can be found in many different colors, styles, and shapes, and are available from retailers in a variety of prices. A traditional set of dominoes contains 28 pieces. Throughout history, dominoes have been made of various materials, including ivory, bone, silver lip ocean pearl oyster shell (mother of pearl), and ebony. Today, domino sets are made from a variety of plastics and polymers, and are available in different colors.

Although a career mercenary, Domino has been trained in multiple forms of armed and unarmed combat. She is an expert in covert operations and demolitions, as well as being a skilled markswoman and athlete. She has served with a number of incarnations of X-Force, and even helped the time-traveling mutant Cable during his battles against the emotion-manipulating mutant Copycat.

When Domino possesses her powers, bioelectric pulses down her spine activate her natural reflexes and agility to superhuman levels. These pulses are augmented by her ability to instinctively calculate the odds of virtually any event occurring, and they enhance her natural strength, speed, and endurance. In addition to her psionic powers, Domino is adept at a variety of kinetic weapons and technology disruption abilities.

Hevesh is a master of creating complex and imaginative domino reactions and effects before live audiences in domino shows. She has designed and built countless rows of dominoes, sometimes involving tens of thousands of dominoes that must be lined up in perfect sequence and toppled with the slightest nudge.

Domino has the ability to predict the future in a highly accurate manner, which allows her to see potential outcomes of almost any action and to plan accordingly. She often makes use of this talent to aid in her work as a mercenary, helping her clients and teammates plan covert operations or defuse hostile situations before they escalate. Domino’s domino effect can also help her avoid impulsive actions that may put herself and her teammates in harm’s way.
